php pdo insert in foreign key table using Max function
.everyoneloves__top-leaderboard:empty,.everyoneloves__mid-leaderboard:empty,.everyoneloves__bot-mid-leaderboard:empty{ height:90px;width:728px;box-sizing:border-box;
}
I'm stuck in my example and I need your help.
I'm new in php and sql.
I have two tables:
Table dataip:
- data (current date)
- ip (ip number)
- dataip_id (auto increment)
Table controler:
- machine (text)
- controller (text)
- controller_id (equal with dataip_id)
I have defined a html form to input the data into these two tables.
I'm using php to sent the data between for mand server (using MAMP and MySql).
I'm trying to add data in controler table. For controller_id I would like to use the biggest value from dataip_id. Unfortunately I can not add add the date for controller_id.
I also removed the relation between tables in order to simplify my test.
if(isset($_REQUEST['machine']) or isset($_REQUEST['controller'])){
$_date = date("Y-m-d");
$IpAddress= $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'];
$sql = "INSERT INTO dataip (date, ip) VALUES (:date, :ip)";
$stmt = $pdo->prepare($sql);
$stmt-> execute(array(
':date'=>$_date,
':ip'=>$IpAddress,
));
$dataip_id = $pdo->query("SELECT MAX(dataip_id) FROM dataip");
#$dataip_id = $pdo->query("SELECT dataip_id FROM dataip WHERE dataip_id=17");
#echo $dataip_id;
$sql = "INSERT INTO controler (machine, controller, controller_id) VALUES (:machine, :controller, :controller_id) ";
$stmt = $pdo->prepare($sql);
$stmt-> execute(array(
':machine'=>$_POST['machine'],
':controller'=> $_POST['controller'],
':controller_id'=>$dataip_id,
));
return ;
}
At the end I would liek to add a relation 1:1 between thse two tables.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Please help.
Thank you
