Pass the name (value) of image to Edit view in asp .net MVC 5?
My model:
public int ID { get; set; }
public string Name { get; set; }
public string LastName { get; set; }
public byte Fotografia { get; set; }
Controller (create/Get):
// GET: Empleados/Create
public ActionResult Create()
{
return View();
}
Controller (create/Post):
[HttpPost]
[ValidateAntiForgeryToken]
public ActionResult Create([Bind(Include = "ID,Nombre,Paterno,Fotografia,")] Empleado empleado, HttpPostedFileBase foto)
{
var db = new SIPAE_Context();
if (foto != null)
{
empleado.Fotografia = new byte[foto.ContentLength];
foto.InputStream.Read(empleado.Fotografia, 0, foto.ContentLength);
if (ModelState.IsValid)

db.SaveChanges();
return RedirectToAction("Index");
}
}
if (ModelState.IsValid)
{

}

}

}
So far so good, I can insert a new user with name, last name and image(fotografia) and display it. What i have to do is the Edit view, i want it to show the name of the image(Fotografia). Can you guide me to the right direction?
This is what I have on the controller (Get):
// GET: Empleados/Edit/5
public ActionResult Edit(int? id)

{
return new HttpStatusCodeResult(HttpStatusCode.BadRequest);
}
Empleado empleado = db.Empleados.Find(id);

}

}
This is what I have on the controller (Post):
[HttpPost]

Empleado empleado, HttpPostedFileBase foto)
{
var db = new SIPAE_Context();
if (foto != null)

foto.InputStream.Read(empleado.Fotografia, 0, foto.ContentLength);
if (ModelState.IsValid)
{

return RedirectToAction("Index");
}
}
if (ModelState.IsValid)
{
db.Entry(empleado).State = EntityState.Modified;
db.SaveChanges();
return RedirectToAction("Index");
}
return View(empleado);
}
Here I'm able to edit the User but is not showing the previous Image(Fotografia) so If I click submit with out loading a new Image(Fotgrafia) it will delete the previous one. What I have to do is the Edit view, I want it to show the name of the image(Fotografia). Can you guide me to the right direction?

By name of image do you mean the name of the file the user uploaded? It which case usefoto.FileName
to get it (and assign it to a model property if you want). And you do not use data models in your views when editing data. You use a view model - refer What is ViewModel in MVC? nd in the POST method you get the data model from the db and update its properties based on the view model then save the data model.
