Collection of data for statistical analysis [on hold]

I have a very fundamental question about statistical analysis:

When collecting data for an analysis, how can we guarantee the authenticity of the results of statistical processing/analysis in a modern society where I guess it is easy to collect only data convenient for the hypothesis we have?

I have tried to come up with numerous explanations with independence etc. But none of them make sense.

Thanks.

You need to use good principles of experimental design or observational study design.
