BAYESIAN MODELLING: Using R and OpenBUGS fit the (fixed effects) linear model to the data: yi = β0 + β1xi +...
$begingroup$
The data set ‘Politeness’ contains data from a study on the voice pitch (measured as a frequency) of 84 subjects. Six individuals, three males and three females, were asked to perform some tasks, such as ask for a favour or excusing for being late at an appointment, and the pitch of their voices was registered. The results of the experiment are saved in file ‘Politeness data.txt’, which contains the following three variables separated by a ”,” (comma): subject: Identification of the subject (6 individuals) gender : Male (M) or Female (F) categorical (3 male, 3 female) frequency: Voice pitch frequency (in Hz) when performing the task
I have tried the following model on R to automatically read from OpenBUGS. For the life of me I cant get it right, Can someone please update my model for it to work.
library(R2OpenBUGS)
parameters=c("b","beta0","beta1","sigma2res")
n=dim(data)[1]
L=length(unique(subject))
data2 <- list(gender=gender, L=L, n=n, fequency=log(frequency),
subject=as.numeric(subject) )
init <-function(){ list( beta0=1000, beta1=-1000, sigma_res=1 ) }
nit=10000
burn=1000
thin=50
out <- bugs(data2, init, parameters,
model.file="Politeness_data.txt",debug=T,DIC=F, codaPkg=TRUE,
n.burnin=burn,n.iter=nit,n.thin=thin,n.chains=1,digits=8)
out.coda <- read.bugs(out)
