Appointment.Bind not working in EWS API - malformed ID

0

Using Microsoft Exchange WebServices 2.2.0

After getting a "service" (RequestedServerVersion = Exchange2013_SP1) I cannot get this code to find a specific appointment, using "Appointment.Bind" to work- gives "id malformed error".

Code:
{
Appointment app = Appointment.Bind(service, new ItemId("AQ..A==")) gives "id malformed error".
}

BUT, if I iterate through appointments (code below) using the same ItemId.UniqueId I find the required appointment OK. So the issue is not the appointment ID and as far as I know I am following the MS ".Bind" documentation correctly.

        var appointments = service.FindAppointments( WellKnownFolderName.Calendar, new CalendarView( DateTime.Now.AddHours( -1 ), DateTime.Now.AddHours( 2 ), 100 ) );
var idText = "AQ..A==";
var found = false;
foreach (var app in appointments )
{
var x = app.Id;

if ( app.Id.UniqueId == idText )
{
found = true; //works
}

The Appointment.Bind code results in "malformed ID". THe second code iterating through a range does find the appointment by ID. I'd prefer to the Appointment.Bind approach if possible, as is more elegant.
