Spring Cloud Stream - Kafka Binder, strange log during app start
While starting spring boot application I getting Debug info that show confusing information. My config:
- five message channels
- each belong to his own specific group
- one kafka broker instance
Messages that I'm getting are like:
kafka.utils.ZkUtils : Partition map for /brokers/topics/shopping-topic is Map(0 -> List(1001))
Those info is displayed three or more time for each topic.
Should not the appear one since I have one broker instance and partitioning disabled (I hope I have)
What that info really present? Should I bother about it?
P.S
I've noticed about 15 second delay with app start when enabled kafka messaging is that normal?

Can you share your code and configuration, please? This information comes from Zookeeper to get the topic-broker leader mapping. You cannot "disable partitioning", as one broker can make multiple partitions.

As You stated, Kafka broker can have multiple partitions. Actually by default it is three do that kind of explains my debug log

Partitions are per topic, not per broker. And the default is actually 1 github.com/apache/kafka/blob/trunk/config/…
