Date Formatting In Google Data Studio

1

So I have got a date field in my data warehouse and its format is:

Feb 15, 2018

And With Calculated field with the following formula;
TODATE(Date, 'DEFAULT_DASH', '%m')

I am getting output = February, all good till this moment.

But when I am trying to add the year, strange things start to happen. For this formula:

TODATE(Date, 'DEFAULT_DASH', '%Y-%m')

The output is;
Jan 31, 2018

so it is wrong month.

I am getting same results with DEFAULT_DECIMAL

  • If you make a table with Date and the calculated field as the columns, what does the Date dimension look like?

  • Hi there, So the date looks like this in the table: Feb 15, 2018 but the new calculated field is showing this Jan 31, 2018

  • Looks like a bug. It brings back the end date of the previous month regardless of the day of month. You should report it here issuetracker.google.com/savedsearches/578413
