Find Element referenced from ReferenceTree

0

I am implementing a com.sun.source.doctree.DocTreeVisitor and I would like to do something special when a link is visited ie on this method:

public Void visitLink(LinkTree node, Void o) {
}

From the LinkTree I can get a ReferenceTree however I can not work out how to find the Element that is actually referenced.

I notice that the actual implementation DCReference has this note:

// The following are not directly exposed through ReferenceTree
// use DocTrees.getElement(DocTreePath)
public final JCTree qualifierExpression;
public final Name memberName;
public final List<JCTree> paramTypes;

However I don't have available the DocTreePath of the referenced element.
