Python pypy3 packages issue; Requirement already satisfied vs. ImportError: No module named 'blah'
Note that I'm using my office system which is connected to a larger network and some of the paths mentioned in the following are shared between all users.
Summary: I am trying to run a python code. when I run it, it returns an ImportError: No module named scipy error, and when I try to install it, it returns and error saying that it is already installed with this message: Requirement already satisfied
Details:
I am trying to run a python code with a Makefile which in the header has this line:
python=PYTHONPATH=. pypy3
and these are the results for running which on my system:
[amir@lin physlr]$ which python3
/gsc/btl/linuxbrew/bin/python3
[amir@lin physlr]$ which pypy3
/gsc/btl/linuxbrew/bin/pypy3
So all of them are from linuxbrew. Now, When I run the code using the Makefile, It says:
ImportError: No module named 'scipy'
make: *** [Makefile:317: f1chr4.physlr.tsv] Error 1
make: *** Deleting file 'f1chr4.physlr.tsv'
So I tried to install scipy using pip3 and here is the result:
[amir@lin physlr]$ pip3 install --user scipy
Requirement already satisfied: scipy in /home/aafshinfard/.local/lib/python3.7/site-packages (1.1.0)
Requirement already satisfied: numpy>=1.8.2 in /home/aafshinfard/.local/lib/python3.7/site-packages (from scipy) (1.15.4)
and yes, when I try pip3 show scipt it says:
[amir@lin physlr]$ pip3 show scipy
Name: scipy
Version: 1.1.0
Summary: SciPy: Scientific Library for Python
Home-page: https://www.scipy.org
Author: None
Author-email: None
License: BSD
Location: /home/amir/.local/lib/python3.7/site-packages
Requires: numpy
Required-by: scikit-learn
which is different from /gsc/btl/linuxbrew/ ...
It seems I need to install the package with pip_pypy3 as when I try
pip_pypy3 show scipy it returns nothing which means it is not installed. But for that I need some permission which I cannot obtain now.
Does anybody have suggestion or solutions?
