Fade out on scroll only on desktop

my objective is to give the fade out effect to 3 elements through css just when the page is viewed on dekstop. So i tryed this code that works even on mobile, i don't know why the width function is not working. Can you help me ?



 $(window).scroll(function() {

if ($(this).scrollTop()>0 && $(this).width() > 780)
{
$('.header-right-info').fadeOut();
$('.menu-master').fadeOut();
$('.header-left-info').fadeOut();
}
else
{
$('.header-right-info').fadeIn();
$('.menu-master').fadeIn();
