java.util.zip.ZipException: error in opening zip file while deploying war to websphere
I am trying to deploy my war file to websphere 8 and it's giving me below error.

With that amount of information it's hard to say anything beyond "there's an error in your zip/war file". Can you unzip the war file with a command line/UI unzip tool? Also, as it's obviously not Websphere deploying but Liferay: Which version (please be exact) of Liferay are you running?

The issue was with war file only. Redeployed the war and now everything is working as expected.
