Tablesorter Filter Formatter Widget and Select2 Not Showing Values with Spaces as a Selection

I have created a simple table which includes 3 rows of states. Maine, Ohio, and New York.
When I select Ohio or Maine, they show up as select2 choices in the Filter Input. However, New York does not.
I have tried various combinations of different tablesorter versions and select2 versions with no success. Using 4.0.5 "fools me" into thinking it works as it shows the choices in the filter input, yet the filtering doesn't work and there is no way to remove them.
