HTML Select size attribute not working for me
I am using a new bootstrap and populated my select with over 200 rows, when I click it, it expands all the way to the bottom of the site. I added the size
attribute and even changed the height
to smaller in style but nothing worked.
The frontend:
<div class="col-lg-3 col-md-6 col-xs-6">
<select name="location" class="app-select form-control">
<option data-display="Lokalita">Vyberte si lokalitu</option>
<?php foreach($location as $lo): ?>
<option value="{{$lo->id_location}}">{{$lo->city}}</option>
<?php endforeach ?>
</select>
</div>
The css referred to the select class:
.form-control {
display: block;
width: 100%;
padding: 0.5rem 0.75rem;
font-size: 1rem;
line-height: 1.25;
color: #495057;
background-color: #fff;
background-image: none;
background-clip: padding-box;
border: 1px solid rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.15);
border-radius: 0.25rem;
transition: border-color ease-in-out 0.15s, box-shadow ease-in-out 0.15s;
}
.form-control::-ms-expand {
background-color: transparent;
border: 0;
}
.form-control:focus {
color: #495057;
background-color: #fff;
border-color: #80bdff;
outline: none;
}
.form-control::placeholder {
color: #868e96;
opacity: 1;
}
.form-control:disabled, .form-control[readonly] {
background-color: #e9ecef;
opacity: 1;
}
select.form-control:not([size]):not([multiple]) {
height: calc(2.25rem + 2px);
}
select.form-control:focus::-ms-value {
color: #495057;
background-color: #fff;
}
