What's the algorithm to determine whether a string is magic or not?
$begingroup$
A string is said to be magic string if
- It consists of only digits
- Its digit form 8 unique numbers between 1 and 80
- All digits must be used
- Digits must be used in order
- No two numbers should not use same digit in the string
I'd like to know if there exists procedures or algorithms to generate magic strings from a given input, or to check if a string is magic (a valid output).
Example 1:
Input: 12345678
Output: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
Example 2:
Input: 493853289475554
Output: 49 38 53 28 9 47 55 54 (only 1 possible)
Example 3:
Input: 493853287475554
Possible Outputs:
- 49 38 53 28 7 47 55 54
- 49 38 53 28 74 7 55 54
- 49 38 53 28 74 75 5 54
- 49 38 53 28 74 75 55 4

Please can you try to edit this into something more like the layout you meant? Leave a blank line between paragraphs, put two spaces at the end of a line to get a new line. For anybody else to edit it they need to guess the meaning, so they can't do it.

But if you can get the one breaks sorted out, that might let someone else edit it seine more. Also what does "no two numbers should not use the same digit" mean?

That is.. After using 2 digits consecutively you should go to third one.. Or if use only 1 digit you should go to next digit
