JSON files build, but won't load
I have a script that successfully copies my JSON files into the dist
folder:
"build:json": "copyfiles -u 1 ./src/**/*.json ./dist"
I can also confirm that they exist:
- dist/
- locales/
- en.json
- i18n.js // references en.json
i18n.js
loads the json file like: const file = require("./locales/en.json")
When I run this locally, it works fine. The issue only happens on the published version. Chrome DevTools doesn't show the entire locales
folder in the Sources
tab, so they don't load.
I tried import
vs require
. I also tried referencing the JSON in the main index.html
file.
Does create-react-app
do something to strip out the json files at the build level? This actually used to work with CRA1.0, but not with CRA2.0.
