Delayed setBackgroundMessageHandler and missed push message

I have a site, which runs on multiple domains and each of them has it's own Firebase messagingSenderId. Because of this, Firebase initialization is delayed until I get messagingSenderId from JSON endpoint. It all works just fine until worker terminates and then restarts, when push message is received: because background message handler isn't assigned instantly, it misses the first push message.

What can I do to avoid this situation? Is there any analog of waitUntil for worker initialization? Or how can postpone that missed push handling?

Here's the simplified code of service worker:
