Differences between XStreamAsAttribute, useAttributeFor and aliasAttribute, in XStream
I was reading the documentation and looking some examples about using XStream
library with XML that uses attributes, but I am a little bit confused about the differences between those three:
@XStreamAsAttribute
annotation (Annotations Tutorial and documentation);
useAttributeFor
method (Alias Tutorial and documentation)
aliasAttribute
method (documentation).
It seems that using @XStreamAsAttribute
annotation is the way to go for defining attributes in a class, but then, what's the use for useAttributeFor
method? Is it useful just when you can't change the class annotation?
And what about aliasAttribute
method? Is it just for giving a different name to an attribute?
Some links that I saw, with examples:
- Java XStream - Complex Example - Programmer's lounge
- XStream - Handling Attributes in XML - StudyTrails
- XStream Attribute Aliasing - Tutorials Point
