Directory Structure for User added Images in Flask
.everyoneloves__top-leaderboard:empty,.everyoneloves__mid-leaderboard:empty,.everyoneloves__bot-mid-leaderboard:empty{ height:90px;width:728px;box-sizing:border-box;
}
I'm building a pretty large Flask application where users will be allowed to insert images. I was wondering if there is any recommended directory/package structure for the project. I am aware of the fact that Flask and many other people recommend the following:
/yourapp
/yourapp
/assets
/views
/static
/css
/img
/js
/templates
However, I have two types of images in my application. One type consists of the images that the app itself uses and the other type consists of images added by the users. I am currently storing the images the app itself needs in the static/img/
directory. I might also mention that I'm storing files that are part of the program but aren't really code (for example, assets could consist of .json files and .txt files that need to be parsed when user sends a request). When Flask recommends images in static
, do images added by the user technically static
or would that belong better in the assets
directory or is there something better I could do? I realize that this question might come off as opinion based right about now, but what I'm really asking for is whether there is a recommended/smarter way to do this and contemplating about the advantages and disadvantages of doing it one way over the other. I am NOT asking for your opinions.
Thanks for any help in advance!
