DataStudio chart last day not included (YYYYMMDDHH)

0

In DataStudio, when using YYYYMMDDHH format for time dimension (from a timestamp field), the last day of the selected date filter is not included. I've tried to set the timestamp format both in the datasource and in the chart properties.

In the example, data for Sept 4th is not included.

Example (format YYYYMMDDHH)

The data source is BigQuery (working fine in BQ console), standard SQL:

SELECT RTU,
DATETIME(fechahora, 'Europe/Madrid') fechahora,
EstadoSensor_Nivel01
FROM TEST.EstadoSensor
WHERE EstadoSensor_Nivel01 > 0
ORDER BY RTU, fechahora

Datastudio Report design

However, if I change the timestamp format to YYYYMMDD it work as expected, and data for the last day in the date range (Sept 4th) is included.

Example (format YYYYMMDD)

Any idea to get the chart with the hours from the last day included? Of course, I could select one day more in the range, but in that case it always includes the last day without data (users might think there are no data for the last day and it is not true)

  • What is your data source? If it's BigQuery, have you looked at the query it runs? I'm just wondering if it's a "BETWEEN" query that's missing any hours after '0'?

  • I've just checked one of my reports and its fine, includes the last day and all hours. Can you share a picture of your report set-up (removing anything sensitive)?

  • @Bobbylank: I've edited above, to include the SQL (no BETWEEN operator in it) and the report design. Please, let me know anything else you may need

  • Doesn't look like anything that would contribute in that. The only other thing I could thing is if your data/default settings are in a different timezones? If not, I'm stumped
