Accessing button gives undefined property error
I'm trying to make a button and I get this error:
Scene 2, Layer 'Actions', Frame 96, Line 16, Column 1 1120: Access of
undefined property klikprofil.
I'm using Adobe Animate CC 2019. I already match the instance name as shown in the image:
And here is the code:
klikprofil.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, mouseclick);
function mouseclick(event:MouseEvent):void
{
MovieClip(this.root).gotoAndPlay(1, "Scene 3");
}
actionscript-3 adobe-animate

That means that button does not exist at the moment this code gets executed.

You might be retrieving klikprofil
(a button in a scene) the wrong way. I don't recall well Flash Pro./Animate CC's scene mechanism, but indexing your root sprite like sprite.getChildByName('klikprofil')
might work.
I guess you lexically accessed klikprofil
because you expected A-CC'd do something like var klikprofil
in the global package ‘magically’.
Ah, and if you're scripting in timeline you might not have access to your root sprite as normal when you're using the MXML compiler directly.
