I have to know the about the three areas (source, staging and presentation), the type of data they contain and their purpose but cant seem to find much information about the data that they contain.
I am hoping that someone of the stack overflow community will be able to help me

you won't find a lot of details on the actual data, because it depends on your scenario. In a generic business case, your source data would for instance be your ERP system, maybe a separate warehouse system as well. Staging is always a preparation area where data from your sources is sometimes combined, denormalized, mapped, cleared up and at some point prepared for import into the Business Intelligence system that works with your fact and dimension data. And that BI system is your presentation system. But what data they contain really depends exclusively on your scenario.
