How do I auto generate information from one excel into a standard excel template? For example, I have a master data file but I only need to extract certain information from the master file to auto-fill a template excel file.

How large is your data and what is the formatting of the data?
Do you need the filled template to change as your data is master set gets updated?
if the formatting is consistent between each subset of data you can use dynamic cell pointers
example if you have data is cell A1-C1 in one sheet1
you can transfer it to another sheet by =Sheet2!A1 or to another booklet by =[Book1]Sheet1!$A$1
the select and drag function used for duplication can then be used to fill the subsequent cells once a pattern in pointers is established
