Multi-level primary key?
I have a fairly simple users
table as follows:
CREATE TABLE users (
host VARCHAR NOT NULL,
username VARCHAR,
password VARCHAR NOT NULL,
PRIMARY KEY (host, username)
);
Password generally doesn't matter as far as PK goes. However, username
can sometimes be NULL (hence lack of NOT NULL
on it), meaining the specific host tells users apart through password only. In that case I'd like the password to be a part of PK too.
My initial attempt was
PRIMARY KEY (host, coalesce(username, password))
But that's not valid syntax apparently, at least not in SQLite3.
Is there any way I can achieve this using pure SQL?
