Autocomplete Jquery UI dynamic source update issue

0

I am using two Jquery plugins in my website.
One is jquery.SeleceMe for my dropdown and another one is jquery-ui for autocomplete.

Here is how I've instantiated the autocomplete plugin.

//autofill
$( "#TextArea" ).autocomplete({
source: "search.php?option="+ option.toLowerCase(),
minLength: 3
});

I have the selectMe plugin instantiated like this :

$('#Options').selectMe({
cssFile: '../js/jquery.selectMe.css',
width: '100%',
columnCount: 5,
onOptionValueChanged: function( element ) {
option = element.value.toLowerCase();
var teaxtarea = $('#TextArea');
//this is supposed to change the source string when the option value changes.
teaxtarea.autocomplete( "option", "source", "search.php?option="+ option);
}
});

I got the code to update the sorce string from the question below.

Jquery: Possible to dynamically change source of Autocomplete widget?

However, this solution doesn't seem to work for me.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
