Adding -am flag breaks build

0

I have a maven project with this structure:

- main:
- appengine-project
- lib-a
- lib-b

The project has a gwt:compile goal and depends on both libraries.

Since gwt:compile takes a very long time, I want to avoid running mvn install on it as much as possible but when chaging code in the libraries I want to find a good way of compiling the libraries and run appengine:run.

For some reason, when I add -am flag to my build it breaks and fails to find plugin any reason for this?

I am trying to run appengine goal from a sub-module:
mvn -pl sub-module appengine:run -DskipTests works.
mvn -pl sub-module appengine:run -DskipTests -am fails.

[ERROR] No plugin found for prefix 'appengine' in the current project and in the plugin groups [org.apache.maven.plugins, org.codehaus.mojo] available from the repositories [local (/home/thepoosh/.m2/repository), central (https://repo.maven.apache.org/maven2)] -> [Help 1]

Welcome to the wonderful world of Maven! TL;DR: I don't think there's a solution, besides installing the libraries and then running your goals (appengine and GWT) from the subproject.
