Word2vec vs ARPA N-gram model

0

I would like to understand the difference between ARPA models (eg in SRILM) vs word2vec model (which is a predictive model).

I have been working on Kaldi off late and I understand the concept of ARPA in that context. Now, I believe word2vec is a skip-gram model. However, the same can also be applied to ARPA models as well. In that context, is ARPA model a variety of word2vec?

Although this is a little broad-based question, however, neither existing SO nor google gives a clarity on the subject.
