What is the purpose of a blob-file in the wordpress media folder?

.everyoneloves__top-leaderboard:empty,.everyoneloves__mid-leaderboard:empty,.everyoneloves__bot-mid-leaderboard:empty{ height:90px;width:728px;box-sizing:border-box;
}

I am trying to create a backup of my website's data using the Duplicator-plugin, including the wp-content-folder. During scan Duplicator reports two "invalid name"-errors for files called "blob-1" and "blob-3" (no filetype ending). I removed the files via FTP, they are no longer in the folder. Still Duplicator complains about the faulty name… I have cleaned caches in the backend and the browser, logged out and back in.
If I run the "Scan Validator" from Duplicator's Tools there is no issue reported.

Thanks for any hint.

  • Since your question isn't programming related, you may have better luck getting an answer here: wordpress.stackexchange.com (or you could also just ask the developer of the plugin about this, they should be able to help you out too).
