Rsnapshot is not properly making database backups

0

I have recently setup rsnapshot to remotely backup my web server. Rsnapshot runs on my backup server and backups the files and db from my web server every night. However, I am having some issues with it.

#files backup
backup root@my-web-server-ip:/home/nginx/domains/domain.com/public somedirectory/files

#db backup
backup_script /usr/bin/ssh root@my-web-server-ip "mysqldump -u root dbname > /tmp/mysqldump.sql" Unused/
backup root@my-web-server-ip:/tmp/mysqldump.sql somedirectory/db

According to my understanding, it should be making a new mysql dump every night and then copy that to my backup server. However, the backups have now been running for a few days and every folder (alpha.0, alpha.1 and so on) have the same .sql file. Same size, same name, same last modified date.
The issue with only the database backup. The files backup is working fine.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
