Creating a transaction on someone else's behalf

0

Essentially, instead of me getting the money of a transaction or invoice, I want to serve as a middle man between sellers and customers.

A good example would be Discogs. Discogs offers a marketplace where you can buy physical music, used or new. Discogs however, does not store or transfer those items, it just serves as a platform, like eBay. So when I buy items on Discogs, I use their website, but my money goes directly to the seller, not Discogs. This is exactly what I wonder about on how to implement this kind of system using PayPal (or Braintree). The PayPal and Braintree docs talk alot about you receiving money, but I have not yet seen a way to serve as a middle man. If it is possible, are there any noteworthy implications?

There is PayPal PayOut, but that only works once the money is on my PayPal account.
